Aparnaa Laxmi is a multi-faceted personality who loves challenges. Certainly, She was born and bred in Lucknow and imbibed courage and the importance of giving back to Society from her father, who was a freedom fighter. However, She is a volunteer at heart and contributed her time at charitable organizations even from School days.
Certainly, Aparnaa Laxmi is a multi-gold medalist in swimming and has represented her Alma Mater La Martiniere Girls’ College, Lucknow, the District of Lucknow and the State of Uttar Pradesh for over a decade. Hence, She has been active with Elocution, Debate, Extempore Speech, Creative writing and other cultural activities from her college days.
Likewise, She is an English, Economics and Social Work Graduate from Canning College, Lucknow with over thirty years of experience as a Documentation Consultant and researcher, who has worked for Unicef, Helpage India, GOI, Care International, IDFC, Oxfam, etc. as a freelancer.
Furthermore, This woman of substance from India is an avid singer and published author who has contributed to several publications, including ‘Speeches of Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant’, ‘The Limca Book Of Records’, 786 Ashaar of Ghalib, ‘Ghalib and 25 Master, ‘Social Intermediary role of Micro Finance Institutions in India’, ‘Dictionary of Micro Finance Terminology’, as most recently as Co-Editor and poet for ‘She The Shakti’, an anthology of poems by 124 poets, etc., in which her Hindi poem, ‘Prashnn’, won critical acclaim for its depth of emotions.
She founded the Eco Lib (Economic Liberation) Foundation for dedicated services to society in the year 1996. She established the Radiant Kids Multi Activity Center for socio- economically underprivileged and working children, under the RTE Act in Jharsa Village of Gurgaon and has been single-handedly managing it through her own personal funds and voluntary efforts since April 2012.

Aparnaaalso empowers poor women and youth of Jharsa Village by the provision of vocational training and financial literacy workshops. She has been working for the ‘Anti-Tobacco’, ‘Swacch Bharat’, ‘Make in India’, ‘Beti Bacchao, Beti Padhao’, etc., campaigns through her Radiant Kids Remedial School.
Aparnaa Laxmi has been given the ‘Bharatiya Mahila Gaurav’, ‘National Achiever’, ‘DLF 5 Woman of Substance’, ‘Matri Shakti’ Award by Haryana Kala Parishad, etc., recognitions and several commendations from Gurgaon Traffic Police and Civil Defense Organization for her voluntary work.
Aparnaa Laxmi is a volunteer with the Gurgaon Traffic Police as a Road Safety Officer and with a Citizens’ Forum for better Governance Gurgaon Action Plan, Gurgaon. Her work has been covered by several newspapers and publications on multiple occasions, including telecast of a mini documentary by Haryana News in June 2012, and by India News Channel on Sept.5, 2016. Her volunteering efforts have been recognized by i- volunteer, Mumbai.
Aparnaa’s Radiant Kids initiative of Eco Lib Foundation has found coverage in DLF City News magazine as well as in DLF’s High 5 lifestyle magazine.

Also, Aparnaa has started a first of its kind initiative for Community sharing at the Radiant Kids School premises, in Jharsa Village of Gurgaon, from January this year. Therefore, Called the Neki Kii Deewar or ‘Wall of Kindness’, this is an attempt to encourage underprivileged children to share whatever they can, with others even less fortunate than themselves.
Her entrepreneurial ventures include ‘Andaz-e-Bayan’- a not for profit, market linkage initiative featuring Chikankari and Zardozi products sourced from women artisans of marginalize groups, including prison inmates of Lucknow Model Jail and more recently retail of products made by underprivileged women of Jharsa Village for their financial empowerment.
She has been residing in Gurgaon for the past decade with her husband and children- two college- going daughters and a son currently studying in Class 8. She teaches Hindi to foreign nationals in Gurgaon. Aparnaa also serves on the Anti -Sexual Harassment Committees of some Corporates in Gurgaon as an NGO member.
